In April, 2010, Brian Rose made an appointment with his dermatologist to have a mole on his scalp examined. The mole was removed and sent to the lab for additional testing. Two days later, Brian received the news that the mole was cancer. He was diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
A week later Brian underwent a surgical procedure to remove a large portion of tissue surrounding the cancerous tumor. The surgery was deemed a success and the doctors reported that the cancer was gone.
In September, 2010, Brian returned to the surgeon after another unusual growth had appeared on his scalp in almost exactly the same location. After another surgical procedure to remove the growth, Brian was informed that the melanoma had come back. Additional tests confirmed the worst... the melanoma had entered the bloodstream and had spread to his liver, lungs, brain, and more.
On October 6, 2010, Brian was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma.
Today, Brian continues to publicly fight this deadly disease with LOVE, HOPE, and the furious conviction to FIGHT LIK3 HELL. His story and tenacity have touched thousands of people all over the world and he has committed himself to a mission of providing awareness, education, and inspiration.
